Establishing an EU based company can provide advantages for those UK companies looking to provide services within the EU. Here we provide introductions to the advantages of establishing companies in Estonia and Ireland. We have chosen these two jurisdictions because they offer:

You will see from these eGuides that both jurisdictions offer a number of significant benefits.

  • All documentation for both jurisdictions is available in English.
  • Both Irish and Estonian companies can be managed online.
  • Both tax regimes are favourable

The key differences however between the two are:

  • Estonia will require you to physically visit an Estonian office (Dublin, London, Estonia ....) Registering a company in Ireland can be effected without visiting any office.
  • Practically, an Irish company requires an EEA resident director, Estonian company directors can be resident anywhere (provided they have a registered for eResidency).
  • Both offer low rates of corporate taxation - but which is better for your company will depend upon a number of factors.
  • Managing the administration of an Irish company will be slightly more expensive than the costs for an Estonian company.

Disclaimer: TradeTech Solutions (“TTS”) does not offer any advice or recommendations as to whether it is advisable for you to establish either Estonian aResidency or an Estonian company. This eGuide simply serves as an introduction to the options that exist – with any details current at the time of writing, and therefore subject to change. Before taking any concrete steps, you should take appropriate legal and fiscal advice (neither of which is offered by TTS.)
